Fremantle Family Doctors is an award winning private billing surgery with two locations in the Fremantle area, with appointments available every day, on the day, from Monday to Saturday. All the doctors working from our consulting rooms have trained in general practice to specialist level and they pride themselves on their high clinical standards and inclusive and compassionate care.

Our highly skilled support staff includes a practice manager, receptionists and registered nurses on duty at each location. We also have a Dietitian and Clinical Psychologist who work closely with our doctors.

We have a well-equipped Treatment Room that can deal with many investigations and procedures that might otherwise require hospital care. We also have separate children’s waiting rooms with a TV, which means happy kids if you are waiting!

Our cloud based medical IT system means your record is available to the doctors at whichever location you attend. We have Clinipath collection facilities and ample parking at each location.

With the spread of COVID-19 in the community, we are taking extra steps to keep you, your family and our staff safe while maintaining our high standard of care. We are very mindful of maintaining a COVID-19 free surgery environment so that we can remain open and serve you.

Booking

Our booking service, HotDocs, will now allow telehealth as well as face to face bookings. Please don’t book a face to face appointment online if you have fever or respiratory symptoms. Ring reception instead and we will be able to accommodate you. In most cases they will make an appointment for you to attend the practice and advise you ring to check in when you have arrived. You may be asked to wait outside with your vehicle or on the “al fresco” chairs provided. See below.

Telehealth consultations

These have taken a bit of getting used to for Doctors and Patients alike, but have become a vital tool in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Keep your phone switched on and handy and set to receive calls even from “no caller ID” (in your phone settings). Many telehealth calls are now via video link. Keep a close eye on your incoming messages as the link to follow to start the video call may come through that way. It’s much nicer if you can see our face and we can assess you better that way too!

Arriving for a face to face appointment

If you have a fever or flu like symptoms such as sore throat, cough or nasal congestion, please inform our reception staff, preferably by phoning us before you enter the practice. Face masks are no longer required unless you have cold or flu symptoms, but are encouraged particularly for any “at risk” patients.

Seeing patients with fever or respiratory symptoms

If you have fever or flu like symptoms you may be asked to wait outside with your vehicle or on the “al fresco” chairs provided. The Doctor will call you first to discuss your case and then if needed will either examine you outside or bring you in to the surgery. You will need a Face Mask. It is preferable if you can do a RAT test at home and bring it with you.

Please note that there may be times when your consulting Doctor may suggest the dedicated GP run Respiratory Clinic in Victoria Park or the Emergency Department as the best option based on their assessment of your condition.

We will continue to adapt our procedures to keep step with the changing conditions over the next few weeks to months to keep our Patients and Staff safe. Updates will appear on our Website or speak to one of our friendly Receptionists.

Kind regards,

The team at Fremantle Family Doctors.
